Story: “KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM” is the story of an affluent family�the Raichands. Yashvardhan Raichand (Amitabh Bachchan) and his wife Nandini (Jaya Bachchan) have raised their sons Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Rohan (Hrithik Roshan), showering them with great love and affection.

Yash is deep rooted in values that he has imbibed from his forefathers, like deep respect for one’s elders, honouring the family name and giving an unending commitment to the rich traditions and heritage of the family.

Rahul is an adopted child and his adoption is always a forbidden topic in the Raichand household. Rahul falls in love with Anjali (Kajol) a bubbly, effervescent girl from Delhi�s Chandni Chowk.

Not acceptable to Yash Raichand, Rahul decides to leave his home. Nandini spends every waking moment waiting eagerly for her eldest son to come back home. It is then that Rohan wows to reunite the family and does so with the help of Kajol�s sister- Pooja (Kareena Kapoor).
