As the dust settles on the Badshah’s small screen attempt, arc rival in the general entertainment space Zee TV is finally showing some signs of action with the launch of Teen Bahuraaniyaan positioned to occupy the weekly 10.30 pm slot.
Taking on the top rated ’saas bahu’ saga Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi on Star Plus at the given time band, the latest Zee offering will have to work its way up the ladder and spruce up the network’s position in the GEC space.
Set to premiere on 26 March, the new show which is produced by Paresh Rawal and Swaroop Sampat’s Playtime Creations promises to tell the tale of three bahus, from diverse backgrounds living under one roof and against a Gujarati backdrop.
Zee TV programming head Ashvini Yardi said, “We always tackle extremely topical and relevant subjects in our show. Be it Saloni from Saat Phere, Vidya from Dulhann or Lakshmi from Betiyann, the protagonists have a ‘purpose’, a raison d’etre. This new serial will also deal with the ever-prevalent subject of a new daughter in laws entry in a household that is different from the one she has been brought up in. We all will be able to identify with this theme.”
