The movie is an adaptation of Lauren Weisberger’s bestselling 2003 novel with the same title, the author is said to have spent nearly a year working at Vogue (NY premiere fashion magazine) as an assistant to Wintour (editor of Vogue).

Meryl Streep has been nominated for the Academy Award an astonishing 13 times, and has won it twice for movies: Sophie’s Choice and Silkwood.

The actor-writer-comic reluctantly turned down the hit movie because of his weekly TV series Rescue Me. He is rumored to have been offered both the roles played by Simon Baker and Stanley Tucci.
