Story: For Rai Sahib Amar Nath Kapoor (Pran), the importance of money exceeds that of everything else. Rai Sahib was so occupied with his business, that he could even not spare a few minutes to fulfil his wife’s dying wish. And if Rai Sahib?s young son Vicky (Amitabh Bachchan) disturbed his night parties or business meetings, he was given two spoons of brandy and put to an intoxicating sleep. As a result, Vicky became addicted to alcohol at a very young age. Vicky was brought up by Munshiji (Om Prakash), a childhood friend of Rai Sahib. Vicky was close to the sympathetic Munshiji, who was like a father and mother to him. When Vicky grew up he fell in love with a singer and dancer called Meena (Jaya Prada). But Rai Sahib disapproved of his son?s choice. This conflict created a further wedge between the father and son. Watch all the drama unfold in what was one of Amitabh?s last major success in a leading role.
