Story: Beta directed by Indra Kumar is a tale of Raju (Anil Kapoor) who is a lonely child after the death of his natural mother and craves for motherly affection. His father decides to get him a stepmother. Unfortunately his stepmother is only interested in taking complete care of all his wealth and property of the family.

But she plays up to the affections of Raju and keeps him uneducated and traps him in her web of fake love and affection. All grown up now she decides to get Raju married off to another illiterate girl so that she would never lose control. But the lovely educated girl Saraswati (Madhuri Dixit) turns the climax.
