Music is Sunil’s (Shah Rukh Khan) only passion in life. His father wants him to help out in running the family garage but Sunil has other plans. He, along with his friends, have formed a band and are looking for a break in Chinatown, a club in their home town, Goa.

Sunil is in love with his childhood friend Anna (Suchitra Krishnamoorthi), the lead singer of the band, but so is Chris (Deepak Tijori), the lead guitarist. Sunil tries his best to keep Chris away from Anna but one day Chris and Anna gradually come closer.

Sunil realises that he might be losing Anna.

In a desperate attempt to win Anna’s heart he creates a misunderstanding between her and Chris. But his success is short-lived as Anna soon learns the truth and is shocked.
