At New York’s Central Park Zoo, lion Alex (Stiller, Night At The Museum, Tenacious D: The Pick Of Destiny), zebra Marty (Rock, The Longest Yard, Paparazzi), giraffe Melman (Schwimmer, Big Nothing, Duane Hopwood), and hippo Gloria (Smith, Collateral, The Matrix Revolutions) are best friends and stars of the show.

When Marty goes missing from his cage one night in an attempt to discover free and greener pastures, the other three decide to break loose to look for him. The four animals’ “escape” from the Zoo is translated as a cry for freedom.

But instead of being shipped to a wildlife preserve in Kenya, they end up on a tiny corner of Madagascar. They soon learn that they’ll be needing all their New York City streetsmarts if they are to survive the jungle’s motley crew of creatures!
