Shaan has been replaced by Rohit Roy in Zee TV’s Ek Main Aur Ek Tu serial. Rohit will be seen accompanying Ishitta Arun from, 25 May. After Shaan announced that he wanted to take a break for his tour last week, there were a lot of candidates who were under deliberation to take his place. Rohit Roy was one of them.

“Shaan is joining us in four week. I wanted someone who could fit in with the image of the show, yet have his own characteristics of being a good actor or singer and Rohit fitted the bill flawlessly. I am thankful to him for agreeing at such short notice,” says director Gajendrra Siingh.

Rohit had earlier hosted the Desi version of Dance Fever, Dance Divas on Zoom and Sahara One’s Dial One, besides being part of dance based reality show, Naach Baliye. The actor will soon be seen on Star Plus playing the lead in Ravi Chopra’s Virasaat. Will the actor be able to match the high principles set by his forerunner, will he be able to strike an affinity with the contestants at this crucial occasion? Only time will tell.

After the blackout has been lifted by cable networks following an agreement between the broadcaster and distributors, Star One is back in Mumbai. According to the Cable Operators and Distributors’ Association (CODA), Star has agreed not to press for a 10 per cent upward reconsideration in the level of subscriber affirmation for this year.

“Those who have paid the revised levels, will not be billed auxiliary and will be unrestricted to an regulation in fresh bills, There will be no anti-cable operator campaigns by Star,” said Ravi Singh, Vice-president, CODA.

It’s about two warring family’s fervent their antagonism is like an incurable disease which doesn’t have a cure and marry into that family with the hope of solving their problem,” she says briefly about the show which goes on air on June 12.

Sangeeta say’s that she was initially wary of “doing Viraasat because it was a daily soap but when I read the script I was completely hooked.” Adds Shailja Kejriwal, senior creative director, Star India, “Priyanka Kharbanda, the female leading role of this show, is romantic and tough at mind.”

Kam Ya Zyaada is coming back on Zee TV after completing is 100 episodes, with a new host. The new host is Aman verma, he is going to replace Manoj Bajpai who was the last host of this show.

Aman says that he has got a call from their office, but nothing has been incorrigible. He says that “you should call the channel and find out; they are the best people to give you the right answer.”

When the media persons as Ashwini Yardi the programming Head of Zee TV, he said that it’s not true. The show has completed its 100 episodes and now going for a break now. When he was asked that will the show return with Aman Verma he refused to comment on that. Manoj Bajpai also said that he is unsure about the returning with the show in the second season.

Star plus has announced to launch new family drama ‘ Viraasat - Nafrat Ke Khel Mein,Do Dilon Ki Chahat’, in its 9.00pm block June 12,2006 onwards, replaing Miilee.

It is the Production of B.R. Films Producation. This is a multi- starrer family drama that will have a strong line-up of television’s most popular faces ranging from Kiran Kumar, Deepak Quazir, Aman Verma, Amarr Upadhyay, Jayati Bhatia, Pooja Raval Ghai to Rohit Roy and Sangita Ghosh.

It is a story of Rahul Lamba (Rohit Roy) and Priyanka Kharbanda (Sangita Ghosh) who are frantically in love with each other, conversely are bound by an age old antagonism between their warring families. Coca Cola, on the other hand, is spinning a contest around the movie wherein winners will get a chance to meet Aishwarya Rai. With its latest ‘Thande Ka Tadka’ summer campaign already underway, the soft drink major had recently also tied up with Aamir Khan starrer Rang De Basanti. Besides Coca Cola and Inox, MTV has also roped in Nokia and Parle Hide and Seek as associate sponsors and 93.5 Red FM as radio partner.

For the violating of the advertising and program code, six music channels including MTV and Channel V have been summoned by the information and Broadcasting (IandB) ministry. Including MH1 Alpha Punjabi, ETC and B4U have been asked to appear by the end of this month before ministry to explain the repeated violations.

The Music channels have been apprehended up for telecasting offensive remix Hindi film songs in violation of programme code approved under Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, and IandB Ministry said in a statement.

The Complaints received by the NGOs and women’s’ groups the ministry has asked the channels for explanation. The Complaints fluctuate from substitute advertising for cigarettes and other forms of tobacco utilization to glamorizing liquor, wine and other intoxicants.

After Vaishnavi ended her life by hanging herself at her residence in Anna Nagar in Chennai now Shraddha Vishwanath has commited suicide. She was 21 a student of B.Sc Microbiology student. Shraddha was found hanged at her residence with fan in her room in Kotturpuram in Chennai.

In the suicide note she did not give any reason for taking such extreme step. She writes that - “I have been giving lot of trouble to you people. Please forgive me. I do not want to live in this world any more,” was all she said in the note.

She started her career in television with K. Balachander’s serial Edhir Neechal on Jaya TV. She acted with Khushboo in the serial Kalki on Jaya TV and Kolangal on Sun TV and also has a small role in the Tamil film Bose as one of Sneha’s four friends.

Jaya TV’s Vice president of programming Murali Raaman expressed shock and said, that Shraddha was a brave girl and a good actor. She used to be very lively on the sets. In fact, last month, when actress Vaishnavi committed suicide, she was very sympathetic, and even asked why people resorted to such extreme mea sures.”

In February this year television actor and model Kuljeet Randhawa committed suicide by hanging hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her Juhu apartment. Randhawa (29) left behind a two-page suicide note saying she was taking the drastic step since she couldn’t cope with life’s pressures.

Ross says that in the Indian animation we are looking for the big idea and open to talk to the people who have a distinct creative vision. Our aim is to find the next William Hanna and Joseph Barebera, Chuck Jones or Craig McCracken.
