The elegant actor Karishma Tanna who was seen last in “Paalikhi” on Zee TV produced by Cinevistass, and now will be seen in Star Plu’s primetime show “Pyar Ke Do Naam Ek Radha Ek Shyam”. The track will be on air next week. She will also be seen inquite different avatar in The Rajshri Show.

We will see her in a lovable angle with a dusky lead of “Pyar Ke Do naam” She says, that I am supposed to be a confident and western woman, but have my ethics and culture in place. Will be in touch with my Indian values but will be a very modern girl at the same time. Explaining more about her character, she quips, “I am an extremist, if I love something love it completely, and if I hate something, hate it completely!”

She has a very different name on the show, Jitisha. Before Paalkhi, in which she played Palak, she portrayed the funny character of the wedding-crazy Indu in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

In 36 China Town, Paresh Rawal make the people laugh and now he is going to be the judge in this Friday’s episode of “Ek Main Aur Ek Tu”on “Zee Tv”. He says that “Antakshari and Ek Main Aur Ek Tu” are his favorite shows, and I a pleased to be here to hear these talented singers. Here he will also be promoting his new film “Phir Hera Pheri”

In the place of Tabu, Bipasha is in the female lead and a new director in his jesting flick Phir Hera Pheri. This films starts from where the Hera Pheri was ended, where Baburao, Raju and Shyam rises from rags to riches.

The writer Neeraj Vora who was also the man at the back of the dialogues and screenplay of Hera Pheri takes over as director from Priyadarshan for this film produced under the poster of Firoz Nadiadwala. Apart from the films, Rawal’s had a vigorous theatre existence both in Hindi and Gujarati plays.

Balaji Telefilms is setting up a separate division venture into Ad and Corporate Films production as part of its operations. The new company will be called Balaji Adfilms Limited. Kalpana Ravi who is having the fifteen years of experience in this field, will be looking after this venture.

Sahara TV has introduced a new show called “Sirf Ek Minute Mein” after scrapping the game show, “Mission Ek Crore Ka” with “Snajay Dutt”. This was planned to be shown on the TV in March this year. The game show hosted by Aryan Vaid and Mini Mathur. The game show is separated in three parts; first the viewers have to call on 190-4424-9090-01 or SMS on 9090 to register for participation. Callers are selected by a unsystematic process supervised by EandY who are the auditors for the show, and then who will be called by the host during the show.

The caller is given 60 seconds to answer as many questions as possible with each correct answer fetching a prize. If in a minute a caller gets six answers correctly, then they qualify for the bumper prize. If the participant gets the bumper question right then they win a prize along with the six prizes won in the earlier round and if they get the bumper question wrong then they will have to forfeit 3 of their prizes.

The Nimbus Communications now plans to float three sports channels at an investment of Rs 350 crore. The company has raised Rs 135 crore on Friday from Deutsche Bank in the form of bonds, which is exchangeable into impartiality after a year at a market value of approximately Rs 200 per share. Deutsche Bank will hold a 10 per cent stake in Nimbus Communication. The company will exploit its internal accruals of Rs 80 crore for financial support in new projects.

First channel will be launching in October, and it will be a cricket channel. Money raised by Nimbus Communications will be used in creating the infrastructure for the new channels and for the purchase of upcoming telecast rights. The second channel will be forthcoming in April 2007, which will a sports entertainment channel. The third channel, to be launched in September 2007 and will be enthusiastic to be a news channel. The channels will increase its paw marks across Asia to Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, West Asia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. For the Pakistan territory, Nimbus has approved Pakistan-based GEO TV.

Zee Teleflims launched its much predictable Kannada channel Zee Kannada on 11 May. The 24-hour channel will hit the airwaves at 5 am. Zee South said that the new channel was slated to confine the needs, moods, sentiments and aspirations of Kannadigas. Zee Kannada is the second south Indian language channel that Zee is launching after Zee Telugu, which was launched in May 2005.

Zee Group has been working in the northern India for the last 14 years and now it is making the invasion in the south. Punit Gonenka the Director of Zee Teleflims said that we are resolute to stay here for a long time, and after a detailed survey this new channel was vacant to the people of Karnataka after studying their needs and their choice.

After Sun TV’s Udaya channel and Eenadu’s ETV Zee Kannada is the 3rd satellite channel in the state of Karnataka. The Sun group also operates a music channel U2 in the state. Previously, Zee had the occurrence in the Kannada TV industry through its Kaveri channel venture, which had abrasion up. Zee Kannada channel is the self-governing channel and absolutely belonging to the Zee Group.”

Sagar Films the makers of Ramayana and the more recent Hatim is now coming on Star Plus with another period drama- Prithviraj Chauhan. Based primarily on Chand Bardai’s Prithviraj Rasos, the Sagars present the story of this attractive character for STAR Plus.

Jaya TV operator Mavis Satcom Ltd. has been awarded the Wireless Protocol Clearance (WPC) to launch its news channel Jaya Plus. Jaya TV’s vice president of administration and legal S Ranganathan said that now they have obtained all the necessary permission to launch Jaya Plus. We have the infrastructure in place and the enrollment drive will be launched soon. The channel will be launched at the initial, after the Tamil Nadu assembly election results

For speeding up the proceedings, Mavis Satcom had approached the Madras High Court early this year. In February, the Centre had guaranteed the court that it would take a final conclusion on an application by VSNL to sanction it to receive and uplink Jaya Plus on or before 9 March.

Jaya Plus will be mostly the news and a current affairs channel, but will be having the undersized doses of talk shows and quiz programmes. The channel will have seven to eight news bulletins. Jaya Plus will be politically associated towards Jayalalitha.
