Mumbai blasts: injured boy identified

The young boy battling for his life in Borivali’s Bhagwati Hospital has finally been identified as Rakesh Amritlal Parihar.
The 12-year-old’s recovery from the multiple head injuries he suffered in the Mumbai blasts has been painfully slow and he had become the unidentified face of the tragedy.
Rakesh, who belongs to Nerul in Navi Mumbai, has now been reunited with his family.
On Thursday night, a neighbour told Amritlal that a boy who looked exactly like his son was on TV. Amritlal rushed to switch on his TV saw his 12-year-old son Rakesh, very seriously injured, but alive in hospital.
Late on Tuesday, Amritlal found out that his oldest son who had been holidaying with relatives in Surat was on his way home. When he did not show up, Amritlal panicked and began combing the city, worried that the 12-year-old had been in some sort of accident.
The accident was much worse than Amritlal could have imagined. Since Tuesday’s blasts, Rakesh has been treated at the Lila Bhagvati hospital for severe internal injuries.

Sources indicate Pakistan hand in Mumbai blasts

There are now clear indications that the indian government is convinced of Pakistan’s involvement in Tuesday’s serial blasts in Mumbai that claimed 190 lives and wounded more than 770 people.
Exclusive information available with a private indian news channel ‘NDTV’ indicates that the National Security Advisor told Cabinet Ministers that Pakistan’s involvement was definite.
Talks between indian and Pakistani officials planned for next week are likely to be delayed, NDTV reported.
Meanwhile, investigators are searching for two men - Zabiuddin and Mohammad Faiyaz- believed to be the masterminds in the attacks.
Security agencies have been on the lookout for them for the past few months for their involvement in the RDX haul in Aurangabad in May as well as the RDX blast in Ahmedabad in February.
