The story is set in a middle class basti in Mumbai, occupied by the mill workers who have lost their job as the mill has shut. The main protagonist Uma is a 27-year old dutiful daughter. She works hard to run the family ever since her father and brother lost their jobs after the mill shut.

Uma constantly tries to motivate the people in her basti to train themselves to conform to the various roles in the running of a mall which replaces the mill… Uma’s mother hopes to see her two daughters, Uma and her younger sister married and settled in life. Their education is not her priority to her but Uma aspires to fulfill her dreams.

Badhaai Ho Badhaai is an excellent remake of a Telugu hit film, “Subhakankshalu”. The story is based on the feud of 2 families; The Chaddhas (Amrish Puri, Farida Jalal and Govind Namdeo), and the D’Souzas (K Vishwanath, Rohini Hattangady) who used to be friends but turned foes after their daughter and son, respectively, eloped and got married.

The two families now cannot stand each other and wave off sickles at each other across their fences. Suddenly, Raja (Anil Kapoor), who claims to be the son of the pair who had eloped, comes back to meet them. The two families spurn him, unwilling to let go of the past. (more…)

16 men from across the Americas travel to Las Vegas with one dream, one goal - to become THE ULTIMATE FIGHTER.
