Karam Apnaa Apnaa is the story of a girl Kasturi, who lives in Calcutta. Kasturi is a simple girl who wishes to see her family happy. Kasturi’s family comprises of her father Alok, her younger sister Kaya, mashi ma and a brother who no longer lives with them. Kasturi’s mother has passed away.

She works in the Khandelwal’s household as a caretaker. The Khandelwal family comprises of three brothers and a sister. The eldest brother Mahen Khandelwal lives with his wife Garima, two sons and a daughter.

The story revolves around Mahen and his greed to win the elections in the city and become the most powerful businessman. He uses Alok and his daughter Kasturi as his pawns to succeed in this. Sony Entertainment Television is all set to hit the airwaves from 18 August. The one hour show “Man Mein Hai Visshwas”, produced by Creative Eye will be aired every Friday at 8 pm. The slot was earlier occupied by Deal Ya No Deal.

Series Man Mein Hai Visshwas is about real life miracles evolved from man’s unshakable faith. Each episode will showcase experiences of people whose lives have changed after they experienced incidents that can be described as nothing but miracles. The show will have Nitish Bharadwaj as the narrator of the show.

NP Singh said, “Man Mein Hai Visshwas is a combination of mythology, drama and reality that will carve a niche for itself in the prime time band. This show incorporates short stories that are real and based on intense faith and devotion people have on a deity or temple. This unique blend of realism and mythology we hope will capture the viewers’ attention. The show in simple terms is all about unshakable faith that makes miracles happen.”

The show will also include real life experiences from famous artists like Pandit Jasraj amongst others. Sony will unleash a six week on-air campaign on its network channels to build reach and frequency for the show. The print ads will be launched on 18 August in all Hindi speaking markets to create awareness. Apart from this, radio and cable will also be used to build frequency across all FM stations and Vividh Bharti.

Star Plus has decided to wind up Kavyanjali and replace the series with another Balaji Telefilms production Karam Apnaa Apnaa. Slotted for 9:30 pm, Monday to Thursday, Karam Apnaa Apnaa will lock horns with Zee TV’s show Saat Phere.

Star Plus will launch Karam Apnaa Apnaa on 29 August. According to Star India senior creative director Shailja Kejriwal, the channel will use the series, which will have as its principal characters Bengalis, to target Eastern India.

Star Plus is initiating with Karam Apnaa Apnaa is to reach out to the young audience during the launch stage itself. The marketing wing of Star India has devised various marketing activities and one of these is to hype up the lead character’s marriage. (more…)

The movie is about the search for answers to the questions that most of the characters don’t seem to know they’re asking. And their guides along the way, deftly portrayed by Hoffman, Tomlin and Huppert stir the pot of confusion in this boiling mess of angst, deception and discontent. And it’s funny! While the performances by Law and Wahlberg were wonderful and engaging, the real star of this movie is the writing. It’s very thoughtful without being heavy-handed. And the humor manages to take material that usually comes across as pretentious and makes it palatable for the common folk.

Resham Dankh goes on air on Star One from 14 August Mon-Thu, 9:30 pm. From the creators of superhits like Khichdi, Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai and Baa Bahoo aur Baby comes Resham Dankh, a pacy family drama of love, joy, humour, sacrifice and Certainly, betrayal.

Raahil said “Resham Dankh” was based on Atish Kapadia’s Gujarati novel by the same name. “We have shot about eight to ten episodes. The idea of the serial steamed from the story that Aatish Kapadia penned down for Chitralekha. It has a definite beginning, middle and end and will not drag on endlessly like other soaps,” he added.

Speaking about his new character, Rahil said he plays the protagonist in the serial which he describes as a “social thriller”. “The story is about a business family and how a child born into the family brings it closer,” he added. The actor, earlier played “Hatim” on Star Plus and also was part of Ekta Kapoor’s “Kahi Kissi Roz” and few other serials.
