This is a story of a brother (Salman Khan), who worships his sister (Ashwini Bhave) and her husband (Jackie Shroff) and lives with them. Jackie is lured by a local dancer (Shweta Menon) who starts living in their house.

Salman does not like this as his sister’s life is getting affected by Shweta’s presence. He tries to put sense in his brother-in-law’s head, but in vain. Salman is humiliated and thrown out of the house.

When he realises that there is more to the story than meets the eye, he fights the culprits and brings the love and laughter back in his sister’s life.

Hera Pheri revolves around three ordinary people - Shyam (Sunil Shetty), Raju (Akshay Kumar) and Bapu Rao (Paresh Rawal). Shyam comes to the city seeking a job in the same bank his father worked in and finds himself competing with Anuradha (Tabu) for it.

He gets accommodation in Rao’s house. Rao is a kind hearted, debt-stricken alcoholic who owns a garage. Raju also happens to stay with Rawal. His mother is under the illusion that he is a wealthy businessman in Calcutta, not realising that her son does odd jobs and stays in the same city of Bombay.

Anuradha, who has to support her ailing mother and siblings, is also struggling to make ends meet. Seeing her plight, Shyam selflessly lets her take up the job he was in line for.

At the chautha – as women make some snide remarks – Simran asks Suhana (Naina) to take Kiran to her room. As Suhana (Naina) is moving up the stairs - Ruhaan and Abhishek enter.
