Story:Devdas is the story of a love greater and beyond all else…even life itself. By far the most expensive Hindi film ever made in the history of indian cinema, DEVDAS is based on Saratchandra Chatterjee?s famous novel and has been filmed four times previously for celluloid posterity.

Shahrukh Khan is exemplary in his portrayal of the heartbroken Devdas. The film is set in larger than life mansions erected by Nitin Desai and brought to celluloid life with the use of incredible colours and fabrics, which are brought out to the fullest in the dance sequences. Lavish, lush and passionate ? Devdas is all this and more with a pace that is almost operatic.
