Although Eckerman and Pearce share an uncomfortable history, the two bury the hatchet and soon are able to depend on each other.

Soon the police and the thugs are on their tail. The ever-squabbling couple now have to put their differences aside as they make a run for their lives.

Back in the days before tabloids existed, people had to depend on gossip columnists for their insider scoops. Largely sensationalistic, they nevertheless achieved a certain level of recognition and authority.

This movie is a biography of the 1950s gossip columnist and radio show announcer, Walter Winchell (Tucci), whose unorthodox writing style grabbed the public’s attention as much as the dirt he dished on public figures.

However, his own life was not without its own controversies, and he lived a life which was far from clean. Winchell lived out of a hotel room away from his family, where he fraternized with a known prostitute seeking to make her break in show business. (more…)
