Hatya, one of the early hits of Govinda and directed by his brother Keerti Kumar, is a dramatic crime thriller in which Govinda is falsely arrested for a murder.

A small boy, whose mother was the sole witness to the murder and so was herself killed, proves Govinda’s innocence even as Govinda himself shields the boy from villains.

Neelam plays Govinda’s romantic lead in the movie, though her role is mainly ornamental. Govinda dominates the film with his impressive emoting.
