Story: “Kaal” is set on the background of Jim Corbett National Park in Uttaranchal. A wildlife researcher (John Abraham) and his photographer friend (Esha Deol) venture into the Jim Corbett National Park to work on a project.
Also a group of tourists (including Vivek Oberoi and Lara Dutta) land in the national park for some adventure. But on one creepy afternoon strange things begin to happen in the park and members of the group start disappearing. It seems that there is some supernatural force behind the events that is partly beast and partly ghost.

Baljeet Roy (Sanjay Dutt), a software engineer, arrives in Bangkok with his wife Nisha (Celina Jaitley). One day he is abducted by someone for mysterious reasons. When Bala wakes up, he finds himself locked in a dark room. His only window to the outside world is the television in his room and from it, Bala learns that his wife has been murdered and he is the prime suspect.
Then, inexplicably, after fourteen years Baljeet is released. However, he quickly learns that his ordeal is far from over, as he is handed some money and a cell phone, triggering the next stage of the twisted game that is being directed by Bala’s still-unknown tormentor.
Bala starts his hunt for the unknown enemy. Circumstances bring him close to Jenny (Lara Dutta), a cabbie, who helps him in his search for answers. Story: Karan (Rahul Khanna), the young scion of Kantilal tells his father not to heed to the threats of Baba Sikander (Mithun Chakraborthy) and pay up the extortion money that the don is asking. Baba is an international gangster wanted by cops from many countries.
He is also in drugs, kidnapping and murder as well. Karan is hurt and he seeks revenge. Karan knows well that he cannot do the task alone. So he wants help. A reporter who wants more stories Priya (Amisha Patel) tries to pitch in with help.
Never mind if she is singing and dancing with the hero and fighting with him as well in the process of making him tell his story. An ex-cop Arjun (Arjun Rampal) joins in. So does Abhimanyu (John Abraham). (more…)
