Story: Jeetu (Shahid Kapur) is a small town hustler who is constantly in debt and dodging creditors and moneylenders. His father and his fiancée Pooja (Sushma Reddy) are made to suffer the consequences of his instability and his debts. Jeetu feels that he is not worthy of Pooja and encourages her to marry someone else, which she doesn’t agree to.

Jeetu tries jumping into the sea, trying to drown himself so that his family gets to claim his life insurance and pay off some of his debts. But he is found entangled in fishing nets by a pair of fishermen Bandya (Paresh Rawal) and Gundya (Rajpal Yadav) who take him home with them.

One of the fishermen, Gundya, owes money to Prabhat Singh Chauhan, a Gujrati businessman. On discovering Jeetu caught like a mermaid in their nets, they read a note in Jeetu’s pocket that leads them to assume that he is a millionaire and they hatch a scheme to give Jeetu’s services to Prabhat Singh Chauhan (Om Puri) in exchange for the money that they owe! The story revolves around two friends, Rahul (Tusshar) and Karan (Ritesh). Rahul is sincere, simple and hardworking, and Karan is just the opposite. While Rahul aspires to become a famous fashion designer some day, Karan dreams of marrying a girl with a pretty face and a prettier bank balance.

Meanwhile, the city is rocked with a series of rape and killings and the police are in search of the dreaded serial killer. Things take a funny turn when Rahul becomes the prime suspect and this sets the police on his trail. They hatch a plan with the help of a famous criminologist, Dr. Screwala (Anupam Kher), to nab him in action.

The Lifestyle channel Zoom has brought glamour to the forefront. The channel Zoom held the Tuscan Verve Zoom Glam Awards. Taking a step forward from two of its successful shows, Page 3 and Popkorn, the Glam Awards is a channel positioning statement.

The show was hosted by Kamal Sidhu and Ash Chandler. This was the glitziest night for the glamour industry, as the local celebrities went for understated elegance in gracing this event. In twelve categories eighteen awards were presented, in honoring ‘Glamour and Flamboyance.

Zoom redefined the red carpet business by inviting as select gathering of people who epitomized personal style. The Show looked to the pas and the present. It was a powerful statement for a return of grace and sensuality in today’s fast paced life. (more…)
